Backlog and Reopened statuses help you distinguish new remediation tasks from tasks that need more work after validation. These statuses appear separately in Projects and Tasks.
On this page:
Understand Backlog and Reopened
Use the task's status to tell whether it's new work or has returned for additional remediation.
| Status | Description |
|---|---|
| Backlog | A newly created task starts in Backlog. It hasn't been returned for additional remediation after failed validation. |
| Reopened | A task returns to Reopened when validation results in Partially Fixed or Not Fixed. It needs additional remediation. |
For example, a new task created from an evaluation finding starts in Backlog. If it later receives a Not Fixed validation result, it returns as Reopened rather than Backlog.
Review task status after validation
When validation returns a Partially Fixed or Not Fixed result, the associated task moves to Reopened.
| Validation result | Resulting task status |
|---|---|
| Partially Fixed | Reopened |
| Not Fixed | Reopened |
Reopened indicates that remediation was attempted, but validation found that more work is needed. The task is distinct from new tasks in Backlog, even when both are in the same project.
Continue using your existing remediation and validation workflow to address the remaining issues.
Filter tasks by status
In Projects and Tasks views with task-status filtering, Backlog and Reopened are separate options:
- Select Backlog to find new tasks awaiting remediation.
- Select Reopened to find tasks returned for additional remediation after validation.
Use these options to review new work separately from work that needs another remediation attempt.
