What's PDF auto-remediation?
PDF auto-remediation makes your PDFs accessible faster, at scale. It automatically transforms non-accessible PDFs into conformant, accessible documents, so that your team can meet compliance requirements without the manual effort.
It combines advanced OCR technology with AI-powered content analysis to reconstruct and remediate PDF accessibility issues automatically. With PDF auto-remediation, Level Access can:
Rebuild document structure: Automatically regenerates a complete, logically ordered tag tree based on visual analysis of your PDF
Restore reading order: Corrects content flow so that screen readers present information in the intended sequence
Generate alt text for images, charts, and links: AI-powered descriptions are created for non-text content, while any existing human-written alt text is always preserved.
Fix heading hierarchy: Detects and correctly tags heading levels throughout the document.
Remediate tables: Tags table structure, headers, and cell associations for full assistive technology support
Flag decorative content: Artifacts and decorative elements are identified and excluded from assistive technology output.
Support PDF/UA-1: Remediates documents to meet the ISO PDF Universal Accessibility standard.
