Upload PDFs for testing

Before testing your PDF in the platform, you need to upload the document. You can upload your PDF in three ways: as a .PDF file, as a URL, or from an advanced scan.

Note the following restrictions apply to PDF uploads:

• The PDF can't be password protected.
• The maximum file size is 20 MB.

.PDF file

You can upload .PDF files individually or in a bulk action for up to 10 files.

To upload your .PDF file:

1. Go to PDF.
2. Select Add PDF.
3. Choose Files.
4. Choose one or more files from the file explorer or drag and drop the files into the Files field.
5. Select Upload.

Once your files are uploaded, you can test your PDF.

URL

To upload a PDF from a URL:

1. Go to PDF.
2. Select Add PDF.
3. Choose URL. Note that the URL must point to a PDF file. For example, www.website.com/document.pdf.
4. Enter the PDF URL.
5. Select Upload.

Once your files is uploaded, you can test your PDF.

Discover PDFs

Advanced scans can now discover PDFs on your website with the PDF Discovery option. You can choose to upload any PDFs discovered by the advanced scanner to the platform for testing. The platform lets you upload the PDFs right from the Scan results page under the PDF Discovered heading or from the PDF Discovery page.

Restrictions:

• PDF discovery is only available for the single page and crawl scan options.
• The scanning tools can’t discover PDFs during web crawls on websites that require authentication details.

Scan results page

To upload a PDF from the Scan results page:

1. Go to Websites/apps.
2. Select the website or app you'd like to scan.
3. Choose Scans.
4. Find your scan.
5. Select the scan title.
6. Under PDF Discovered, find the PDF you want to upload and select the three-dot action menu.
7. Choose Test PDF. The PDF will upload to the PDF page.

Once your files is uploaded, you can test your PDF.

PDF Discovery page

You may want to review where the scanner discovered your PDFs before you upload them to the platform. You can check the location and upload discovered PDFs to the platform from the PDF Discovery page.

To upload a PDF from the PDF Discovery page:

1. Go to Websites/apps.
2. Select the website or app you'd like to scan.
3. Choose Scans.
4. Find your scan.
5. Select the scan title.
6. Under PDF Discovered, find the PDF you want to review and select the three-dot action menu.
7. Choose See all URLs.
8. If you want to upload the PDFs for testing, select Upload for testing. The PDF will upload to the PDF page.

Once your files is uploaded, you can test your PDF.
