View the PDF test report

After you test the PDF, review the resulting test report. You can also download the report.

Note: After testing, the PDF status changes to Tested.

Display the PDF test report

To go to the PDF test report:

  1. Navigate to the workspace or digital asset level. 
  2. Under Find and Fix, select PDF.
  3. Find and select the tested PDF.
  4. Select View report. The report is displayed. 

Review the test report details

The PDF test report has two tabs, Original and Remediated. Switch between the tabs to review the difference between the original PDF and the remediated PDF.

Each report has multiple sections: 

Report section Description
Summary

Data including:

  • Title - this can be changed after testing is complete
  • Author
  • Subject
  • Language
  • Keywords
  • # of pages
  • File size
  • Is tagged
  • PDF producer
  • PDF version
  • Created
  • Modified
Thumbnail A thumbnail of the PDF.
Findings by status

A pie chart visualizing findings by status and a summary of the number of:

  • Passed rules - your PDF meets this requirement.
  • Failed rules - your PDF didn't meet this requirement.
  • Rules with warnings - you should manually check this requirement.
  • Not checked rules - the rule wasn't checked due to an error or technical limitation.
Applied test report

The list of findings from the automated PDF accessibility test.

  • Rule: The rule that your PDF was tested against. Learn more about the PDF accessibility testing rules.
  • Status: The results of the test against that rule. The PDF statuses are:
    • Passed: Your PDF meets this requirement.
    • Fail: Your PDF didn’t meet this requirement.
    • Warning: You should manually check this requirement.
    • Not checked: The rule wasn't checked due to an error or technical limitation.
  • Findings: Shows the number of findings against that rule in the PDF. Select the link to view the findings on the PDF.
  • Details: The requirements to pass the rule.
  • Success criteria: The success criteria the rule is related to.

Jump to the findings 

You can jump directly to the location in the PDF where issues were found and review them in context.

To review findings directly in the PDF:

  1. Navigate to the workspace or digital asset level. 
  2. Under Find and Fix, select PDF.
  3. Find and select the tested PDF.
  4. Select View report. The report is displayed.
  5. Scroll to the Applied test report section. 
  6. In the Findings column, select View [Number] failed rules.  The PDF is displayed. The findings are represented by boxes around the area of the finding.
  7. Select a finding number to view the finding location.
