When you run an advanced scan you can customize your scan options and test pages with logins or other security requirements.
The table below describes the options available for advanced scans.
Option | Description |
---|---|
Select your saved scan options |
Use existing saved scan options or save your scan options to re-use, so you don't have to manually fill out the form each time. Note: The URLs don't save in the scan options. |
How many pages you want to scan |
Choose how many pages you want to scan at a time with single page, list of pages, or crawl your website. When you crawl a website, you choose the number of pages, crawl depth, and have the option to exclude specific pages or certain URL endings. |
Add authentication details | Add basic authentication or secure web authentication details to scan pages that require login access. Basic authentication typically uses a pop-up/browser modal for login whereas secure web authentication typically uses a login page. |
Modify headers |
Add a header and value pair to create a header request, so the scanner can access your secure web environment. Learn more about what headers are and use cases for modify headers. |
Close popups | Close cookie popups that block the scanner from a successful scan. |
Include iframes |
Test any iframes found on your website for accessibility issues. Note: Test iframes is only available for on-demand scans. |
Add wait time |
Add a custom wait time to ensure dynamic content is fully loaded before scanning your website. |
Accessibility conformance level | For quick scans and advanced scans, you can choose a different conformance level each time you run a scan. |
Color-blind emulator | The color-blind emulator gives you an idea of what your webpage looks like to people with different types of color blindness. It also shows high-contrast scenarios that people with low vision or light sensitivity might use to engage with your content. |
PDF discovery |
Locate PDFs that are published on your website using the PDF Discovery option. Any discovered PDFs can be downloaded to the platform and tested using the automated PDF accessibility tester. Note: PDF discovery is only available for single page or crawl scan options. |
Viewport size | Change or customize the viewport size in scans to get an accurate understanding of how your website performs at each display size. |
Notifications | Receive an email notification when the scan is complete. |
