We will be retiring Continuum Explorer as of June 7, 2024
To all Continuum Explorer Users,
With the goal of continuously delivering the most robust, accessible, and user-friendly tools to our users, we have made the thoughtful decision to retire Continuum Explorer on June 7, 2024.
This announcement means that Continuum Explorer will no longer be available for download from the Chrome Extension Store after June 7.
In its place, all Continuum Explorer users will be able to download the Level Access Browser Extension for a more modern way to instantly test websites with the power of Access Engine.
What does this mean for you?
The retirement of Continuum Explorer will take place in two phases:
On May 31, 2024:
- We will end official support for Continuum Explorer.
- This means there will be no new updates, enhancements, or bug fixes made to Continuum Explorer after this date.
- Continuum Explorer will also stop receiving Access Engine updates after this date.
On June 7, 2024:
- Continuum Explorer will be considered officially retired.
- The extension will be removed from the Chrome Extension Store, meaning it will no longer be available for download after this date.
Why are we retiring Continuum Explorer?
We are dedicated to delivering the best accessibility tools and solutions to our users as possible. After comparing Continuum Explorer with the Level Access Browser Extension, we determined that the browser extension can deliver the same high-caliber testing capabilities as Explorer, but in a more user-friendly, modern, and scalable package.
This motivated us to concentrate our efforts on the already robust foundation of the Level Access Browser Extension by shifting focus away from Continuum Explorer.
Introducing The Level Access Browser Extension
Whether you’re scanning a pre-production website, secure environment, or a critical user flow, the Level Access Browser Extension has you covered with all the power of Access Engine under the hood.
Just like Continuum Explorer, the Level Access Browser Extension lets you scan any HTML page you open in your browser for accessibility issues. You can review issue details, locate elements on the page, and even see a summary of your findings for that page, all in a modern, refined user experience.
Plus, if you’re a user of the Level Access Platform, the Level Access Browser Extension also lets you do things like scan key user flows and store the results of your scans for later review and prioritization.
