Before you can test a PDF, you must upload it as a portable document format (PDF) file.
Note: The following restrictions apply to PDF uploads:
- The PDF can't be password protected.
- The maximum file size is 20 MB.

Upload a .PDF file using File Explorer
You can upload .PDF files individually or in a bulk action for up to 10 files.
To upload a .PDF file:
- Navigate to the workspace or digital asset level.
- Under Find and Fix, select PDF.
- Select Add PDF.
- Choose Files.
- Choose one or more files from the file explorer or drag and drop the files into the Files field.
- Select Upload.
Once your files are uploaded, you can test them.
Upload a PDF from a URL
To upload a PDF from a URL:
- Navigate to the workspace or digital asset level.
- Under Find and Fix, select PDF.
- Select Add PDF.
- Choose URL. Note that the URL must point to a PDF file. For example, www.website.com/document.pdf.
- Enter the PDF URL.
- Select Upload.
Once your PDF is uploaded, you can test it.
Upload PDFs from PDF Discovery
You can discover PDFs on your website using the PDF Discovery option available with advanced scans.
Restrictions:
- PDF discovery is only available for the single page and crawl scan options.
- The scanning tools can’t discover PDFs during web crawls on websites that require authentication details.
PDFs discovered in this manner can be uploaded from either of the following pages:
- Scan results
- PDF Discovery
To upload a PDF from the Scan results page:
- Go to Digital assets.
- Select the digital asset you'd like to scan.
- Choose Scans.
- Find your scan.
- Select the scan title.
- Under PDF Discovered, find the PDF you want to upload and select the three-dot action menu.
- Choose Test PDF. The PDF will upload to the PDF page.
To upload a PDF from the PDF Discovery page:
- Go to Digital assets.
- Select the digital asset you'd like to scan.
- Choose Scans.
- Find your scan.
- Select the scan title.
- Under PDF Discovered, find the PDF you want to review and select the three-dot action menu.
- Choose See all URLs.
- If you want to upload the PDFs for testing, select Upload for testing. The PDF will upload to the PDF page.
Once your file is uploaded, you can test it.
