The automated testing tools sometimes discover false positives or findings that aren’t actionable by your team. In these cases, you may want to dismiss the finding. You can restore dismissed findings at any time.
Dismissing findings that you can’t address helps the scan score better reflect your remediation progress. Note that dismissing findings will only affect your scan score if all findings for a particular rule are resolved or dismissed.

Dismiss findings
You can dismiss one or more findings for a digital asset, either from the Scans page or the Findings page.
To dismiss one or more findings from the digital asset Scans page:
- Navigate to the workspace level.
- Under Workspace, select Digital assets.
- Select the digital asset you'd like to review.
- Under Automated Tests, choose Scans.
- Select the scan you want to work with.
- Select the rule description to open the list of findings.
- Select the checkbox for all the findings you want to dismiss. To dismiss all findings under a certain rule, select the checkbox in the header.
- At the top of the list, select Dismiss. The Dismiss findings dialog box opens.
- Enter a reason for dismissing the finding. This is a mandatory field. Note that other members of your workspace will be able to see the reason for dismissing the findings.
- Select Dismiss.
To dismiss one or more findings from the Digital asset findings page:
- Navigate to the workspace level.
- Under Workspace, select Digital assets.
- Select the digital asset you'd like to review.
- Choose Findings.
- Select the checkbox for the findings that you want to dismiss.
- At the top of the list, select Dismiss. The Dismiss findings dialog box opens.
- Enter a reason for dismissing the finding. This is a mandatory field. Note that other members of your workspace will be able to see the reason for dismissing the findings.
- Select Dismiss. The selected findings are removed from the list of findings.
Restore findings
You can restore findings dismissed for a selected digital asset, either from the Scans page or the Findings page.
To restore dismissed finding from the Scans page:
- Navigate to the workspace level.
- Under Workspace, select Digital assets.
- Select the digital asset you'd like to review.
- Under Automated Tests, choose Scans.
- Select the scan you want to work with.
- Select the rule description to open the list of findings.
- Select the checkbox for all dismissed findings you want to restore. To restore all findings under a certain rule, select the checkbox in the header.
- At the top of the list, select Restore.
- Enter a reason for restoring the finding. Note that other members of your workspace will be able to see the reason.
- Select Restore.
To restore dismissed findings from the digital asset Findings page:
- Navigate to the workspace level.
- Under Workspace, select Digital assets.
- Select the digital asset you'd like to review.
- Choose Findings.
- Select the scan you want to work with.
- Select Filters.
- Under Status, select Dismissed.
- Select Apply filters. The list of findings is displayed. The Status column indicates which findings have been dismissed.
- Select the checkbox for all dismissed findings you want to restore.
- At the top of the list, select Restore finding.
Check the activity log
The scan finding activity log shows the details from each time a finding is dismissed or restored. The activity log includes:
- The activity (dismiss or restore).
- The date and time of activity.
- Who did the activity.
To a check a scan finding’s activity log:
- Navigate to the workspace level.
- Under Workspace, select Digital assets.
- Select the digital asset you'd like to review.
- Under Automated Tests, choose Scans.
- Select the scan you want to work with.
- Select the rule description to open the list of findings.
- Select the finding you want to check. Note that all findings with an activity log will have a comment bubble next to the finding status.
- Select the comment bubble icon. An activity log popup window opens.
