Inline frames (iframes) let you place a container on your webpage that shows content from another webpage. This is often used to add things like ads, chat tools, or news feeds from other websites. Even if your organization doesn’t own the content inside the iframe, you’re still responsible for making sure it’s accessible to everyone.
iFrame scanning is available for:
- Monitoring (all types)
- Advanced scans (Single Page, List of Pages, Crawl)
- On-demand scans
iframe scanning is not available for:
- Basic scans
- Advanced Automated Flow scans
Note: Platform scans do not test the contents of iframes embedded in pages within the scanned asset results. Level Access recommends enabling the Include iframes option, as organizations are responsible for the accessibility of all content on their digital assets—regardless of whether they created them or host them.
Note: We scan content inside iframes, even when the content is in an iframe contained by another iframe. While the scanner does test content inside an iframe, it will not follow any links contained in the iframe content.
To include iframes in an advanced scan:
- Navigate to the workspace level.
- Under Workspace, select Digital assets. The Digital asset portfolio is displayed.
- Select the digital asset you'd like to scan.
- Choose Scans.
- Select Run scan.
- Choose the Advanced tab.
- Fill out the required fields.
- Select the checkbox for Include iframes.
- Select Run scan.
