What's a VPAT preview?
A VPAT preview is an unverified preview of your accessibility conformance report. Upon request, our AI-powered VPAT Agent consolidates the available evaluations data and provides a fully structured, standards-aligned report for download. The report is delivered in the MS Word format (.docx).
Auto-generated VPAT template is based on the standards included in your manual evaluation. Thus, the report reflects only what was tested.
Note: VPAT previews are not reviewed or certified by third‑party accessibility specialists and do not include an official compliance seal, unlike expert-evaluated VPATs. While auto-generated VPAT previews provide a fast way to understand the accessibility health of your digital assets, they do not serve as compliance-proof or legally defensible reports.
Get an auto-generated VPAT preview
To obtain a VPAT preview from the platform:
- Log in to the platform.
- From the switcher, select the workspace you want to visit.
- Go to Digital assets tab.
- Select a digital asset you want to review. The Overview page opens.
- Choose Evaluations.
Select up to ten evaluations you want to include in the auto-generated VPAT.
Select Apply Auto-VPAT. A downloadable VPAT preview is generated in the MS Word format. A message appears in the top right corner, allowing you to download the report.
Select the Download report link, and then follow on-screen prompts. The downloaded document serves as an unverified VPAT preview. It includes an executive summary and tables extracted from the official templates.
FAQs about VPAT preview
Learn answers to common questions about VPAT previews.
Which template is used for an auto-generated VPAT?
An auto-generated VPAT automatically uses the template based on the standards included in your manual evaluation. The report reflects only what was tested, improving accuracy, credibility, and usability of the report. The selected template aligns the VPAT output with the evaluation scope, removing irrelevant standards, sections, and cross-references. As a result, generated reports include only the applicable standards and content.
Note: We support multiple VPAT editions (instead of International-only).
Will the results of an authored VPAT be the same as the VPAT preview?
Not necessarily. Conformance analysis involves nuances that require professional judgment, which only an accessibility specialist can apply. The VPAT preview is generated automatically based on evaluation data, while an authored VPAT includes human-in-the-loop analysis. As a result, differences between the two are expected, particularly where nuanced interpretation or contextual judgment is required. An authored VPAT may identify and address gaps that cannot be fully captured through automated summarization.
Can I request an authored VPAT from the evaluations used in the VPAT preview?
To author a VPAT, the selected evaluation—or combination of evaluations—must provide a representative sample of the evaluated digital asset. If the selected evaluations do not sufficiently represent the asset, a VPAT preview can still be generated. However, it cannot be used as the basis for an authored VPAT.
Why did VPAT preview results differ over time despite using the same evaluations?
The VPAT preview reflects the state of the selected evaluations at the time of download. If remediation work occurred between downloads, conformance results may change accordingly. For example, a success criterion that previously resulted in Does Not Support or Partially Supports may move to Supports once all associated findings are resolved.
In the executive summary, the following conformance table helps you to compare results over time and understand their progression toward conformance.

Can I see previously generated VPAT previews?
Level Access Platform does not currently store VPAT preview documents that were generated automatically. However, you can manually download, store, and manage these documents using the platform Files feature.
Can the VPAT preview be used as an official compliance document?
No. The VPAT Preview is not intended to be used as an official compliance document. Its purpose is to support internal understanding of conformance status, guide the remediation efforts, and help you assess readiness to request a fully authored VPAT.
Important! Before each download, your organization must explicitly agree to a legal disclaimer confirming that the document is not an authored VPAT and cannot be used as an official compliance artifact. The platform records disclaimer versioning and your metadata at the time of download.
Why can only Organization Admins generate a VPAT preview?
Due to the compliance-related nature of this feature, access is intentionally restricted to ensure appropriate governance and control over who can generate conformance documentation.
