The Accessibility Checker browser extension makes it easy to check for accessibility issues on any webpage or application. You can find the Accessibility Checker in platform, so you can install the extension and start scanning.

Install the extension in Chrome
If you're reinstalling the browser extension, delete the extension from Chrome before proceeding with the steps below.
To install the extension in Chrome:
- From the Control hub, go to Tools and integrations.
- Select Tools & extensions.
- Find the Chrome extension and select Download package. The extension will open in the Chrome store.
- Select Add to Chrome.
- Select Add extension. You’ll receive a notification when the installation is complete.
Install the extension in Firefox
Download the extension
To get the extension:
- From the Control hub, go to Tools and integrations.
- Select Tools & extensions.
- Find the Firefox extension and select Download package. A download will begin automatically.
- Leave the file on the computer. The extension won’t work if the file’s been deleted.
Install the extension
Firefox may prompt installation when you download the extension. If you already installed the extension, you can connect the extension to the platform.
To install the extension in Firefox:

Open the Debugging Setup page in Firefox. To get there, enter about:debugging#/setup into your search bar or select Tools>Browser Tools>Remote Debugging.

From the side menu, select This Firefox.

Select Load Temporary Add-on...
- Open ea-extension-ff.xpi. You’re now ready to connect the extension to the platform.
Connect the extension to the platform
You’ll have to configure your settings in the browser extension before you run multi-page scan sessions and send your results to the platform.
If you see a message stating that your API key has expired, go to Settings in the browser extension and fill in the fields. You don't need an API key to set up the browser extension.
To connect the extension to the platform:
- Log in to the platform. Note that if you’re not logged in, you’ll be prompted to to log in before step 6.
- Right-click anywhere on the page and select Inspect.

From the Elements panel, select Accessibility Checker. If you don’t see the extension, select More (>>) to expand the menu.
- Select Settings.
- Enter your platform URL and select Next. For example, https://company.essentia11y.com/

In the console, choose a:
- Workspace.
- Digital Property.
- Tag.
- Select Save and Close.
You’re now ready to start scanning.
