AMP includes a variety of user types based on access and licenses. Users without licenses can log into AMP and have limited access to view and edit certain features. Licensed AMP users have full access to AMP and are divided into users and administrators.

User types
The table below describes the user types in AMP.
| User type | License required | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Viewer | No | Viewer users can access AMP and view reports that they have access to. The Viewer type is for users that need to access system and report content but won't be addressing any issues or performing audits. |
| Reviewer | No | Reviewer users have the same permissions as Viewers, but they can also edit the Defect ID, Defect Status, and Defect Comment fields on instances in a report. |
| Evaluator | No |
Evaluator users have viewer access to all non-administrator features of AMP. This type is for users that need to view all AMP features, but don't need to use them. Note: This user type is set automatically for any user that does not have a current, valid license. |
| Standard User | Yes |
Standard Users have access to AMP and can use all AMP features except for administrator features and settings. Note: This user type is set automatically for any user that has a valid license and is not an Administrator type. |
| Organization Administrator | Yes | Organization administrators can access a variety of different organization settings, which includes the Organization Testing Control settings. They can manage users, create Assets, create AMP Tests, and modify all reports within an organization. They can perform any activities that are restricted to their organization. |
| System Administrator | Yes |
System Administrators have full access to modify all AMP system content including best practices, test definitions and standard definitions. They can access and modify all organizations in AMP and perform functionalities available to Organization Administrators. Note: This user type is limited to Level Access employees, partners or AMP instance Administrators. |
AMP uses a system of progressive disclosure, meaning that if a user has access to a page, that page will only have links the user can act on.
Implicit and explicit permissions in AMP
AMP has two high-level permission categories:
- Implicit Permissions: Assigned to Organization Admins and above. Organization Admins implicitly get access to all AMP reports in an organization. However, they do not have explicit permissions to a report until they navigate to the report in AMP. Only then, the explicit permissions are added to their account.
- Explicit Permissions: A user already has a direct access to a report via the Permissions icon. Users with explicit permissions gain the ability to add users to the report, as well as view the report in Access Assistant.
Why does this matter?
When using Access Assistant, users will see only those web reports for which they have explicit permissions. Users with Organization Admin and above permissions will not see reports in Access Assistant unless they navigate to it or create the report.
Implicit permissions
Implied permissions in AMP are the default permissions for a user type. The table below describes the implied permissions for four common user types.
| User type | Implied permissions |
|---|---|
| Viewer | Viewer users have view-only access to reports that they've been invited to view. |
| Standard User |
Standard Users can be granted view/edit access to assets and reports. A user's asset-level permissions apply to all reports in that asset. When a Standard User creates a new asset or report, they are automatically assigned viewer/editor access to that asset or report. Note: If a Standard User only has viewer access to a report, they have the ability to copy that report. The resulting copy is owned by the user who performed the clone. This grants them viewer/editor access to that report. |
| Organization Administrator |
Organization Administrators have access to all assets and reports in the organization they administer. Note: They do not have explicit permissions to a report until they navigate to the report in AMP. Only then, the explicit permissions are added to their account. |
| System Administrator |
System Administrators have access to all assets and reports within AMP. System Administrators don't appear in every asset/report permissions screen, but they can view and edit any asset or report. Note: They do not have explicit permissions to a report until they navigate to the report in AMP. Only then, the explicit permissions are added to their account. |
