Set or edit your profile

You can add or update your profile details, or avatar. You can also deactivate your profile. 
Some tasks might requires special platform permissions. 

Finally, and until July 2026, you can choose which navigation system you want to use (vertical or horizontal).

Add or update your profile details

To update your profile:

1. Select Profile in the platform header. 
2. Choose Profile from the dropdown menu. The User settings dialog is displayed. 
3. Update any of the following fields:
   • Email
   • Display name
   • First name
   • Last name
   • Role
   • Time zone
   • Language
4. Select Save and close.

Add or change your avatar

To add or change your avatar:

1. Select Profile in the platform header. 
2. Choose Profile from the dropdown menu. The User settings dialog is displayed. 
3. Under Avatar, select Choose File.
4. Select and open an image from your computer.
5. Adjust the image so it fits within the focus circle.
6. Select Get Image. 
7. Select Save and Close.

Deactivate your account

Note: Your profile will no longer be accessible to anyone. You might not have the permission to deactivate the account. 

1. Select Profile in the platform header. 
2. Choose Profile from the dropdown menu. The User settings dialog is displayed. 
3. From the menu on the left, select Account.
4. Under Account deactivation, select Start account deactivation.
5. Follow the on-screen prompts. 
6. Select Save and Close.

Configure platform navigation (vertical or horizontal)

In April 2026, we introduced a new vertical navigation system (turned on by default). For details, refer to Platform navigation and Platform navigation refresh 2026. 

Note: Until July 2026, you can still switch back to the legacy horizontal navigation. After this transition period, the option to return to the old navigation will be removed, and the vertical navigation will become permanent.

To switch to the horizontal navigation system: 

1. Select Profile in the platform header. 
2. Choose Profile from the dropdown menu. The User settings dialog is displayed. 
3. Turn off Show the new vertical navigation experience. 
4. Select Save and Close.
