New courses
We added the following new iOS microlearning modules:
Exploring iOS Mobile Accessibility
This course is the first in a multi‑part series focused on developing accessible iOS applications. It provides a practical overview of the assistive technologies built into iOS and how people use them to perceive, navigate, and interact with mobile apps. You’ll learn how tools such as VoiceOver and Zoom shape user experience, and why accessibility must be considered during design, development, and testing. This foundation will help you evaluate iOS apps more effectively and understand how implementation decisions can either support or limit access.
Accessible Interactive Controls: Label, Role, Value, and State in Practice
This course builds on the foundations introduced in the Assistive Technologies module and focuses on how interactive controls are exposed to assistive technologies in iOS apps. It explains how labels, roles, values, and states work together to communicate what a control is, how it behaves, and how its meaning changes as users interact with it. Through practical examples, you’ll learn how to implement and test accessible interactive controls, identify common accessibility failures in standard and custom components, and ensure assistive technologies can accurately interpret and operate your interface.
Exploring Android Mobile Accessibility
This course is the first in a multi‑part series focused on developing accessible Android applications. It provides a practical overview of the assistive technologies built into Android and how people use them to perceive, navigate, and interact with mobile apps. You’ll learn how tools such as TalkBack and Magnification shape user experience, and why accessibility must be considered during design, development, and testing. This foundation will help you evaluate Android apps more effectively and understand how implementation decisions can either support or limit access.
Examining Accessibility in Development Methodologies
In this course, we’ll look at common development approaches and how you, as a developer, can use existing workflows to build more intentionally, regardless of your organization’s current accessibility maturity.
