Configure which scan rules you want to apply when testing a specific digital asset.

What are scan rules?
During an automated scan, each accessibility testing tool on the platform evaluates the scanned pages against a set of rules. Each tool has a unique rule set, but all rules come from success criteria in the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG).
By default, every rule for every testing tool is enabled in a scan. However, you might want to turn off some scan rules, that is exclude them from the scan. Here are some potential reasons for doing so:
- A certain rule isn’t applicable to your digital asset.
- Your team wants to use a custom configuration of rules to measure accessibility progress.
- Some rules may not be a focus for your team, so you wish to accept the risk of those issues to focus on other ones.
- A rule can’t be immediately addressed or involves effort from other teams, so it is temporarily being ignored.
Note: To exclude scan rules from testing for this specific digital asset, select them, and the select Turn scan rules off. Confirm your choice, when prompted.
Any changes made will be applied to future scans only.
