Use the Desktop Crawler App to scan internal environments or intranets. To get started, you'll need to get the application from your Account Manager or Customer Success Manager and install the application on your computer. Once you've installed the Desktop Crawler App, you can log in to the app with your AMP URL and API token.
The Desktop Crawler App is available for:
- FedRAMP customers.
- Windows 10 and 11.
- Chrome, Edge, and Firefox.

Log in to the environment
The Desktop Crawler App requires your access to the environment you want to scan. This means you have to log in to the environment you want to scan before you logging in to the Desktop Crawler App.
Before logging into the Desktop Crawler App:
- Log in to the environment you want to scan. Note that the browser you use must correspond with the browser you select in Scan with the Desktop Crawler App step 4.a.
Log in to the Desktop Crawler App
To log in to the Desktop Crawler App:
- Open the Desktop Crawler App.
- Enter your AMP URL. For example, https://ACME.levelaccess.us.
- Enter your API token. Learn more about creating an AMP API token
- Select Log in.
You're ready to start scanning.
Scan with the Desktop Crawler App
Scan internal environments or intranets using the Desktop Crawler App. To scan with Desktop Crawler App, make sure you're logged in to the application first.
The Desktop Crawler App can scan up to 250 pages with a crawl depth of 25.
To scan with the Desktop Crawler App:
- Select the organization you want to scan.
- Find the asset you want to scan.
- Select Create scan.
- Enter or select the:
- Browser. If your default browser is supported, it will be selected automatically.
- Report name.
- Start location (Base URL).
- Max page count.
- Max page depth.
- Select Run scan.
Once the scan is complete, you can view the report in AMP or create a new scan. Note that the score is populated asynchronously and may not show immediately after the scan is complete.
